Winner + Writer's Conference!

Okay guys! I am sorry I am behind. The winner of The Iron King is

GINA!!!

I have already notified her by e-mail to let her know! Congratulations!!

I have on more book to give away, however, I think I am going to wait and do the giveaway after I come back from Italy. Things have been absolutely insane and this is the first REAL blogpost I've been able to do in a long time.

I'm going to my first writers conference this week! It's the OWFI writers conference in Norman. I have a one-on-one appointment with an agent, and I am super nervous! I am glad it is Friday, and not Saturday, however. I've been getting a lot of help from Rachel Pudelek who has been SO helpful and SO knowledgable with EVERYTHING. She is also newly agented!!!! I'm so happy for her!

Because this is my first time at a conference, I can't imagine how it's going to go. If anything, it's making me feel more amateurish than ever. What's worse is I keep imagining being rejected face-to-face with the agent I chose and I'm not sure how I'm going to react. Usually, I build up adrenaline and then I crash hardcore. I keep telling myself that they are just normal people like me. They're going to be nice, even if they do reject me.

But still. It's hard.

So, how do you prepare for writers conferences?

Announcement

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately, I am going to admit to failure and withdraw from the A-Z Challenge. I should have considered my workload. April is a very busy, busy month for me—mostly because it’s the end of the school year. I have pretty big projects that I need to complete, and I haven’t been able to schedule my posts this week. Also, I haven’t been able to visit blogs like I want to, and in order to do the A-Z Challenge justice, I feel like I should be in full compliance with expectations.

So, I am sorry! But I appreciate you all so much, and to make up for it, I’ll give a book away each week just like I planned for my A-Z, only you won’t have to guess. So, the clues I had for last week were for the book Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.

Giveaway Day!

Okay, first and foremost, the winner of Gaia's Secret is:

Regina Ford Castillo!

Man, my rafflecopter sure does like her! Congrats Regina! :)

Here are the clues all lined up:

H is for The Truth about Heaven
I is for Incognito
J is for Jewels, Jewel, Jewell, Jewels, Jule, and Jules
K is for "He's not going to kill me."
L is for....Loire Valley, France

So, what characters do you know who deal with heaven, have to hide (or at least attempt) to hide their identity, deal with someone named...Jewels (spelled in one of those forms), thinks that someone, probably a love interest *might* kill them, and mentions Loire Valley, France?

Any ideas? First person to guess wins the book! If not, rafflecopter! :D

A-Z Challenge: G

Okay, guys. So my idea *might* be failing, since no one was about to guess my first book choice for this giveaway. Because no one could guess, I've decided to do a rafflecopter giveaway for the book instead. So, the book was....*drumroll, please*....

GAIA'S SECRET!
http://www.amazon.com/Gaias-Secret-Pandoran-Novel-ebook/dp/B005P7V5RU

I'm not sure what I could have done to make this easier. I thought if I gave a picture of potential books, you might be able to use process of illumination to figure out which book it was. Here were my clues and where you could have found them easily (without reading the book):

A is for AMADIS (word was located in two places in the table of content).

B is for Bard (as in the Black Bard, in the table of content).

C is for Cicero (Cicero Del Conte)

D is for:

"Daria." He spoke my name softly, lingering on each syllable. (Daria is the main character. Her name is...well, everywhere, lol).

E is for Emotions (Just cause I needed an E)

F is for Fiori (located in the table of content).

Anyways! Thanks for stopping by guys! This week's a new book, and the rest have all been traditionally published. You've probably heard about them in one form or the other. So, good luck!

Here is your first clue:

G is for ___________.

Your next clue is:

"I hate you."

"Heat flooded my
face as
I forced
myself to speak."

something happened?"

A-Z Challenge: D

Almost finished with our first week!

Here is your next clue:

D is for:

"Daria." He spoke my name softly, lingering on each syllable.

If anyone is confused about what you're supposed to be guessing--these are clues from books. For instance, yesterday I posted about Cicero. Well, "the" Cicero doesn't necessarily have to in the book, and it doesn't necessarily mean that the book has anything to do with Greek culture. What it may mean is that someone's name in this book is Cicero.

Anyway, REMEMBER that all the books I'm giving away (aka, the books you have to choose from and find the clues in) have either been mentioned here or are on my Goodreads page

A-Z Challenge: A

Okay guys! It's here!! The A-Z Challenge. Remember the rules for my A-Z Challenge book giveaway:

Every week, I am going to give away a book (that means 4 books total for the month of April). In order to win the book, you guys have to look at the clues I give you and guess the book (they will be anything, words, pictures, quotes, maybe). You have some rules, though!

Rule #1: The first person to post on the giveaway day will win the book.
Rule #2: If you've guessed what the book is, you CANNOT guess until Sunday. On Sunday, I will post a blog with all the clues in one blog post. Hopefully it will auto-post at 6:00pm (central time). So, be ready!

On Monday, I will post the WINNER (which will probably be obvious, lol) as well as where I pulled the clues from. :)

The weeks will run like this:

April 1-6 (letters A-F) are clue days; Sunday the 7th is a giveaway day.

April 8-13 (letters G-L) are clue days; Sunday the 14th is a giveaway day.
April 15-20 (letters M-R) are clue days; Sunday the 21st is a giveaway day.
April 22-30 (letters S-Y) are clue days; Wednesday May 1st is a giveaway day.

Now. All the books I'm giving away have either been mentioned on this blog before OR are on my Goodreads page.

Now, for your first clue:

A is for AMADIS

Okay guys. Good luck! :D

Check out all the other great A-Z bloggers!!
