Second Campaign Challenge! :D

THIS WAS TOUGH. I hope I did this well. :/
We were given a list of 5 prompts to use for this activity and they are as follows:

Prompt 1:

Two people are sitting together under the remains of a concrete bridge. Their backs are against a rusted bridge support. One person’s leg is cut. The other person has wet hair.

Prompt 2:

I decided to attempt challenge number 4 which was this:

Write a story/poem in five sentences, each sentence based on one of the prompts

Also, to add a challenge it was less than 200 words (Write a short story/flash fiction piece of less than 200 words based on the prompts). Also, you are welcome to critique. :) I know my sentences are long...I wish I had more time to dedicate to this, but I fear if I don't finish it now, I won't be able to get to this in the next few days.

Here's the piece:

"Destruction"
Ari sat next to the Prince, their backs resting against the ruins of the bridge once joining the two great palaces of his kingdom, wondering why he hadn't killed her yet. Maybe it was because she had saved him from the tide, but that didn’t erase the fact that she, a practicing witch, outlawed in his Kingdom, had destroyed the place of his childhood. In one huge blast of fire-like intensity, the buildings had crumbled, leaving only metal spears sticking out of the ground. Some of the debris had fallen into the ocean, causing the water to react violently. The rest was left for the people to sifting through in sadness.

I hope you enjoyed this! Thank you for reading.

Oh, and if you'd like you can go HERE to vote for me, or anyone else you'd like...and read amazing bits of writing! :)

  2. I agree, it was a hard challenge. I think you did great.
I sure would like to know why she destroyed his childhood home and how she knows a prince intimately enough to be able to sit by him after something like that.

    1. Me too! lol. I just saw the boy in the picture and figured he was a prince, so I couldn't let that idea go...and Ari's name kept coming up and I couldn't separate the two...I tried, haha.

  4. I did the same prompt, and my sentences are like yours. It's hard to get all the info in the confines of just 5 sentences. I think you got a lot of imagery into those 5 sentences.. which is really, really hard to do. Nice work.
