New List!

Excitement!
Anyways. I was wondering, last year I queried an agent who requested more material from me, then rejected me because she said my first chapter didn't grab her attention enough. Since, I rewrote it...so...I wanna query her again...can I do that? I was going to anyway, but I thought someone might know if it's okay.

For visual stimulation, I give you....Jasper!!! :)
Isn't he cute?

  1. I've read from other agents that if you're going to requery somebody for a different project, then it may be a good idea to mention that they had requested material in the past. That way, said agent might think, "Hm, I've requested something in the past, so I must've seen potential..." I'm sure they know we're humans we can improve, so some might be willing to give it a chance.

On the other hand, I don't know if this also applies for the same piece of fiction that's been rewritten. They might think, "I must've rejected it for a reason."

But who really knows. I guess it really depends on the agents and what they have on their plates at the time.

  2. True, I've tried to research this on agent FAQs and such, but haven't really found an answer. I feel as though it might sound familiar despite the hundreds and hundreds of queries read. :/

  3. I would try it, but be honest! If they have read it before, tell them. Mention massive edits.
